1. USHINDI BAPTIST CHURCH – SHANZU (Pastor Eric Sunguti)
Shanzu is a suburb of Mombasa, Kenya. Shanzu is located 14.2Km from Mombasa, off the Mombasa-Malindi highway. It is home to a diverse and multicultural community with several Tourist attraction features like ocean Beaches.
“Then Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put at his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it. And he called the name of that place Bethel.” (Gen. 28: 18-19a). Just as Jacob wished to mark the spot where he wrestled with God, so we too need to remember the times of great blessings but also of excruciating pain.
Ushindi Baptist church Shanzu started as a home fellowship in the year 1986 with an extension in the year 1987. The mother church took this noble act as a way of reaching out to many souls and spreading the gospel like Jesus did and commanded his apostles.
We are based in Water Supply. Our church is a very special, family-like, lively and multi-cultural community. We have a broad and diverse congregation in terms of its both focus and membership.
We have a membership of 150 at present. There are slightly more women than men, and about 90% of the fellowship are from Ethnic Majority groups. The age profile of the church is also rising and there must be fresh growth among younger people in order to plan for the future of the church. We need to attract families from the community around. The current morale amongst those who attend our fellowship is high and there is a real sense of excitement about the future.
We have a Leadership Team usually comprised of the Pastor and other members. The Leadership Team are the trustees of the church, and are formally responsible for the pastoral care of the members, the oversight and direction of ministry, worship, teaching, membership, fellowship, evangelism, finance, premises, all organisations and matters of policy, programme and leadership.
We see the greatest need as connecting our church members with the local community, so that effective evangelism can bring new people to faith. This will involve growth in personal discipleship and in small group activity to encourage it. There always seems to be a lot happening. We believe that God still has much to teach us.
2. UKUNDA
Ukunda is a coastal town in the southern part of Mombasa mainly inhabited by the Mijikenda (the nine tribes) from the coast of Kenya. It paves way into Diani Beach a major tourist attraction.
It is located in Kwale County, Coast Province, adjacent and to the immediate west of Diani Beach, along the Indian Ocean, close to the International border with the Republic of Tanzania. It is located approximately 32 kilometres (20 mi), by road, south of the port city of Mombasa, the nearest large urban area.

Our church is located in Diani surrounded by a multi-cultural community and diverse congregation in terms of its both focus and membership. Currently, membership has grown to 100 The majority of our members are from the local Ethnic groups. However, we believe in the youths and therefore our church has an initiative to strengthening them to guarantee the future of our church. The current morale amongst those who attend our fellowship is high and there is a real sense of excitement about the future.
Our Leadership Team led by Assistant Bishop Wycliffe Iminwa and other members are the trustees of the church, and are formally responsible for the pastoral care of the members, the oversight and direction of ministry, worship, teaching, membership, fellowship, evangelism, finance, premises, all organisations and matters of policy, programme and leadership.
Ushindi Baptist Church Ukundais continuing its efforts to be “The Church with a Mission” and to grow for the cause of Christ. God has blessed us with numerous souls who have been won for Christ and baptized since 1985. Many persons have also united in membership by Christian experience and reinstatement. New and reorganized groups have become a part of the church ministries.
3. MWANGALA
Mwangala is located 15Km south of Mombasa. This place is home to a diverse community with the majority being the local ethnic groups.
Mwangala Ushindi Baptist church was opened in the year 2016. This was yet another humane and Godly move by the mother-church through its leadership. Since its inception, God has continued to bless and transform the community especially through the youths.
During its formative stage, the members turn up was low but due to Gods love, the membership has grown to 20. The majority of our members are from the local Ethnic groups. However, we believe in the youths and therefore our church has an initiative to strengthening them to guarantee the future of our church. The current morale amongst those who attend our fellowship is high and there is a real sense of excitement about the future.
Our Leadership Team led by Pastor Jane Ngolo and other members are the trustees of the church, and are formally responsible for the pastoral care of the members, the oversight and direction of ministry, worship, teaching, membership, fellowship, evangelism, finance, premises, all organisations and matters of policy, programme and leadership.
Ushindi Baptist Church Mwangalais continuing to deliver Gods will through evangelism and to grow for the cause of Christ. God has blessed us with numerous souls who have been won for Christ and baptized.
4. MAWENI
Maweni is located in Nyali, East of Mombasa, 3.5Km from Mombasa town.
Ushindi Baptist church Maweni is located 614m from Leisure stage, off Nyali road Mombasa. This church started in the year 1988. This was yet another chance for the church to serve the lord by helping many grow in faith accomplishing keeping Gods will. Our family is diverse in culture but the majority are from the local ethnic group.
Our family has been growing over the years despite the challenges along the way but we are blessed with a current membership of 50. Revelation 3:8 “I know thy works, Behold, I (God) have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it”. The Leadership Team comprised of Pastor Elisha Masinza and other members carries out the roles like worship, teaching, membership, fellowship, evangelism, direction of ministry, matters of policy and premises. There is a lot of positivity amongst those who attend our fellowship and there is a real sense of excitement about the future.
We seek to expand our borders to even reaching out to new people through evangelism and missions arranged and conducted by our leaders. This will involve growth in personal discipleship and in small group activity to encourage it. There always seems to be a lot happening. We believe that God still has much to teach us.

5. MAGOGONI
Magogoni is located near Mwishomoroni, Northeast of Mombasa. It is 4.3 Km from Mombasa town.
Ushindi Baptist church Magogoni is situated along Kengeleni road, 5.6Km from kongowea market, Mombasa.
This church began in the year 1992. The mother church was pleased again for this great opportunity to expand and fulfill Gods will through spreading the gospel. Our members are from this community and God has been faithful to His people.
Many people in this community have seen the light through the work God has been doing in our church and Gods flock has reached a membership of 200. Our gifted Leadership Team comprising of Rev, Wycliffe Iminwa and other members are doing well in overseeing the church progress and responsibilities such as evangelism, direction of ministry, fellowship and membership. There is a lot of hope amongst those who attend our fellowship and there is a real sense of excitement about the future.
There always seems to be a lot happening. We believe in serving God for He has much to teach us. Our church is involved in community development through missions and church activities aimed at personal growth and reaching out to new people.

6. RABAI
Rabai is located North-West of Mombasa, 25Km from Mombasa town. This town is location to the Rabai Power plant.
Ushindi Baptist church Rabai was built in the year 1998. This was another evangelical move to reach out to more and more souls as commanded by our lord Jesus. Psalms 122:1 “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the House of the Lord’”. This church was received overwhelmingly by the community for since it formative stage, the attendance has been growing.
Presently we have a membership of 200 led by our gifted servant of God, pastor Joseph Votagwa and his able leadership Team. The leaders are the trustees of the church, and are formally responsible for the pastoral care of the members, the oversight and direction of ministry, worship, teaching, membership, fellowship, evangelism, finance, premises, all organisations and matters of policy, programme and leadership. There is a lot of good expectation amongst those who attend our services and there is a real sense of excitement about the future.
We continue to expect and believe in God through serving Him for He has much in store for us. Through Gods guidance, we have rolled out many projects aimed at communal Christian development through different Missions and evangelism executed by our leaders and members of this great family

7. MTWAPA
Mtwapa is a town located in Kenya’s Kilifi County. The town is situated approximately 16 kilometres north-east of Mombasa on the Mombasa-Malindi road. The town is also the location of the Mombasa-Mtwapa matatu terminus.
John 1:5 “And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it”. Mtwapa Ushindi Baptist church was started in the year 1995 through God’s intervention and guidance. This was a continuation of God’s will and plan for His people. Through His love, the growth has been exponential and as of now, the majority of our members is from the community.
We have a membership of 50, led by our gifted servant of God, pastor John Gereza and his able leadership Team. The leaders are entrusted by the church and are formally responsible for various dockets including pastoral care of the members, the oversight and direction of ministry, worship, teaching, membership, fellowship, evangelism, finance, premises, all organisations and matters of policy, programme and leadership. We are really excited and hopeful for the future because God is in control and He is faithful.
Delivering God’s will is our main obligation as a church and we continue to expect and believe in God through serving Him for He has much to teach us. This is aided by various projects that we have initiated as a church such as missions and youth evangelism administered by our leaders and members of this blessed family
We continue to trust in God and execute His command for He is our strong Tower.
8. MTONGWE
Mtongwe is a settlement in Kenya’s Coast Province located south of Mombasa 2.86 KM from Likoni ferry.
Ushindi Baptist church Mtongwe was commissioned in the year 2012 by the main church as a way of extending the ministry of God’s word to multitudes of people still in the dark for God is Light. Since its formative stage, the growth has been very promising and the community has witnessed the Light of the Lamb, Jesus Christ our savior. This community is of diverse culture but the majority of our members are form the local ethnic groups.
We are blessed with a membership of 70, a figure we expect to increase in future because of God’s purpose for humanity. God’s anointed servants, Pastor Cosmas Sanya and the members of his leadership team are doing well in managing the church’s progress and other responsibilities such as direction of ministry, fellowship and membership. Our church is built on faith and we believe in the future. Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder for those who diligently seek Him”.
Our church is involved in community and Christian development activities through missions and church activities aimed at personal discipleship and preaching the gospel just like Jesus commanded His disciples before ascending to be with the Father, our God.
We trust in the divine Leadership of God through our Pastor, who has the heart of a shepherd, and for this reason Mtongwe Ushindi Baptist Church continues to be an instrument in the hand of God towards winning souls to the kingdom of God.
9. MAGONGO
Magongo is located in the North-West of Mombasa, 7Km from Mombasa town. It is near changamwe refinery.
Magongo Ushindi Baptist church was opened in the year 1989 by the servants of God. Winning souls to God’s kingdom through Christ Jesus has been the prime motive. This was an outreach act to spread the gospel and bring more to the light. John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”. Though a small turn up in the formation days, God’s love and good will has seen our church full of souls as years go by.
We are at a number of 80 members. We thank God for His grace and strength for He has opened His house to many souls through His undying love. The flock is led by Rev. Aggrey Lime in not only God’s word but also overseeing church’s projects and responsibilities supported by his able leadership team.
We engage our members in community and Christian development activities through missions and church activities aiming at personal discipleship and preaching the gospel.
We continue to be a church with a mission to serving God and helping people grow in faith. Our Anointed leaders continues to nourish the flock of God with His word, which is new every day. Magongo Ushindi Baptist Church continues to be an instrument in the hand of God towards winning souls to the kingdom of God.
10. KISIMANI
Kisimani is located North-East of Mombasa, 4.42Km from Mombasa town. It is near Bombolulu town.
Mathew 16:18 “And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Ushindi Baptist church Kisimani began in the year 1990 with the noble act of primarily spreading the gospel and helping the community. This was a privilege bringing more and more people to the house of the lord for whoever has seen Light, has received Life. Despite different cultures in this community, we have a special and diverse congregation.
We have a membership of 50. As a family, we encourage and build one another as directed by our Lord Jesus. 1Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.” Our Leadership Team comprising of Pastor Emmanuel Odeba and subordinate members are doing well in overseeing the church progress and responsibilities such as evangelism, direction of ministry, fellowship and membership. We are hopeful about the future and there is a real positivity amongst the members.
Our church is always active and we have seen God’s favour. We believe in serving God because we are witnesses of His greatness. Our church is involved in community development through missions and church activities aimed at changing lives.
Kisimani Ushindi Baptist Church continues to be an instrument in the hand of God with the sole purpose of drawing more souls to the kingdom of God against all the odds.
11. MIKINDANI
Mikindani is in the North-West of Mombasa, 8.2Km from Mombasa town.
Ushindi Baptist church Mikindani is located in Mikindani street, kwa Bush, 761M off Mombasa Road.
Ushindi Baptist church Mikindani began in the year 1997. This was a progress of God’s will and plan for His people continually delivered by Ushindi Baptist Church likoni. God has been faithful since this church was build and through His shepherds, many souls have been saved in Jesus name.
We are a blessed family with membership of 60, led by the anointed servant of God, Pastor Kennedy Sore and her able leadership Team. The leaders are entrusted by the church and are formally responsible for various sections for which the lord has called them to serve, including pastoral care of the members, the oversight and direction of ministry, worship, teaching, membership, fellowship, evangelism, finance, all organisations and matters of policy, missions and leadership. We see a great future for God is in control.
As a church founded on faith, we continue to deliver God’s will through serving Him for He has kept His promise to His people. We also have various projects that we have initiated as a church such as missions and youth evangelism administered by our leaders and members of this blessed family meant to build good morals in the community and more so spread the gospel.
Mikindani Ushindi Baptist church continues to be stronger each year and we have God our Father to thank.
12. MNARANI
Mnarani is located in the south of kilifi, 18.8Km from kilifi town. It is home to mnarani beach which is a tourist attraction in kilifi county.
Ushindi Baptist church Mnarani was opened in the year 1997 .This was a demonstration of God’s undying love for humanity through spreading the Gospel to every soul on earth. Our family is diverse and lively and since the church formation, the majority of people living in this community have seen the light.
The membership has risen to 45 over the years and we thank God for being faithful. The majority of our members are the locals. The current morale amongst those who attend our fellowship is high and there is a real sense of excitement about the future. We are led by the anointed servant of God, Pastor David Onyango supported by other members who have been called by God to serve in different capacities including; the oversight and direction of ministry, worship, teaching, membership, fellowship, evangelism, finance and missions.
Ushindi Baptist Church Mnaranicontinues the work of Jesus Christ through preaching the gospel, healing the sick and helping the needy. To God be the praise.
13. SHARIANI
Shariani is along Mombasa-kilifi road, 37.6Km south of Kilifi town.
Shariani Ushindi Baptist church began in the year 2018 through the efforts of God’s apostles. This has been a great blessing to this community as lives have been saved and brought into Gods kingdom. We have empowered the community in ways unimaginable and our family has grown tremendously from a small number to a multitude. We give thanks to God.
The membership is currently 46 and we are positive about the future for God is in control. We have seen the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit through the anointed servant of God, pastor Douglas Onzere. A hardworking team who serve the lord in different ministries including Worship, teaching, finance, missions, evangelism and fellowship, supports him.
Besides spreading the gospel, we focus on community development projects, missions and youth programs since we believe in the youths to carry on the noble act of Jesus Christ our saviour. We are extremely happy about our progress and we continue to expect from the Lord.
